WEDDING BELLS.
HILLS — TUXWORTH.
“Locksley Hall,” Mengha, the home of Mr. and Mrs. H. Tuxworth, was the scene of a quiet, pretty wedding on December 19. The matrimonial vows were exchanged between their youngest daughter, Ruth, and Addison, youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Hills, Ulverstone, in the presence of a number of immediate relatives, the officiating clergyman being the Rev. A. E. Jones.
The bride, who was given away by her father, was prettily attired in creme silk, trimmed with pearls. She wore the usual veil and orange blossom and carried a dainty bouquet of asparagus fern and sweet pea with white streamers attached. The bride also wore the groom’s gift, a gold wishbone brooch. The veil was kindly loaned by her cousin, Mrs. Morgan.
Miss Blanche Turner attended as bridesmaid, looking charming in white crepe relieved with blue. She also wore the gift from the groom, a gold wishbone brooch, set with pearls and rubies, and carried the beautiful satin cushion, decorated with hand painted flowers, a gift to the bride from her aunt, Miss E. Tuxworth.
The bridegroom was supported by Mr. Wallace Tuxworth as best man.At the conclusion of the ceremony the guests were entertained at the wedding breakfast, and the usual toasts were honored. The chief centre of attraction on the table was the handsome three-decker wedding cake, made by Mrs. G. Johnstone, and decorated by Mr. Chas. Willing, of Ulverstone.
Mr. and Mrs. Hills received numerous wedding presents, among them being several cheques and gifts of considerable value. They later left by motor for Ulverstone, and their future home will be at Derby.
