BLIZZARD — TUXWORTH.
A quiet but interesting wedding took place at Mengha on Wednesday, July 16th, at the residence of Mr Hewson Tuxworth, when his eldest daughter, Agnes, was united in marriage to Mr Samuel George Blizzard, of Black River, by the Rev. Hugh Livingstone, Presbyterian minister of Stanley. The bride wore a one piece navy blue dress, cream yoke and nicely trimmed with Russian braid and buttons, and also wore the usual veil and orange blossom. Miss Ruth Tuxworth, sister of the bride, who acted as bridesmaid, wore a navy blue habit cloth one piece dress, nicely trimmed with Russian braid. Mr A. Y. Blizzard was best man. At the wedding breakfast, the toast of the bride and bridegroom was proposed by M. Livingstone, and responded to by the bridegroom, who in turn proposed the bridesmaid. Mr A. Y. Blizzard responded. Mr Cole proposed the parents of the bride and bridegroom, to which Mr Tuxworth responded. In the evening the happy couple left by coach for Black River, followed by showers of rice, etc., and the good wishes of all present. The bridegroom’s present to bride and bridesmaid consisted of gold brooches. The presents were numerous and useful, among them a cheque from Mr F. H. Cotton, and a Bible from the Rev. Livingstone.
