John Pattern was born c.1771 in Terrington St Clement, Norfolk, the son of Thomas Pattern and Jane (née Twiddy). He married Elizabeth Ingram in 1797 and Elizabeth Creek in 1813, and there are eight known children. He died in 1820 in Walpole St Peter, Norfolk.
Elizabeth Ingram (c.1776-1809) on 14 December 1797 — Walpole St Peter, Norfolk John resided in Walpole St Andrews. Witnesses were Robert Tweedy (presumably related to Robert’s mother Jane?) and Daniel Ryley (Riley?).
Elizabeth Creek (c.1769-1825) on 2 December 1813 — Walpole St Peter, Norfolk Elizabeth was a widow. Possibly she was Elizabeth Quarry who married Thomas Creek on 18 Oct 1789 at South Lopham, Norfolk (altho that seems a bit too far away!).
Elizabeth & Thomas (born 27 Dec 1808 and both privately baptised 29 Dec 1808)
…the private baptism of the latter twins two days after their birth perhaps suggests they weren’t expected to live?
Last Will & Testament
This is the last Will and Testament of me John Pattern of Walpole Saint Peters in the County of Norfolk Farmer who being sick and weak in body but of sound and disposing mind and memory do make and ordain the same in manner following that is to say.
First I give devise and bequeath unto my sons Edward Pattern and John Pattern all and singular my freehold and Copyhold Estates situate lying and being in Walpole Saint Peters aforesaid together with the rights members and appurtenances to the same belonging to be equally divided between them share and share alike. To hold the same unto my said sons Edward Pattern and John Pattern and to their heirs and assigns for ever as tenants in common and not as joint tenants.
Also I give and bequeath to my wife Elizabeth Pattern the sum of three hundred pounds of lawful English money one moiety or half part thereof to be paid to her at twelve months and the other moiety of half part thereof at two years after my decease by my Executors hereafter named without any deduction or abatement whatsoever.
Also I give and bequeath to my daughter Jane Pattern the sum of eight hundred pounds of lawful English money to be paid to her my said daughter on her attaining the age of twenty one years without any deduction or abatement the interest and proceeds thereof in the meantime to be paid and applied for and towards her maintenance and support but in case she my said daughter shall depart this life before attaining the said age of twenty one years having lawful issue then I give and bequeath the said sum of eight hundred pounds unto and amongst such issue if more than one equally share and share alike and if but one then to such only child on his her or their attaining the age of twenty one years the interest thereof in the meantime to be applied for and towards their several and respective maintenance and education but in case my said daughter shall depart this life under the said age of twenty one years and without leaving any lawful issue then I give and bequeath the said sum of eight hundred pounds together with all the unapplied interest and proceeds thereof unto and between my said sons Edward Pattern and John Pattern equally share and share alike and to their heirs and assigns to and for their own several and respective use and benefit.
All the rest and residue of my personal estate and effects whatsoever and wheresoever and of what kind or nature soever the same may be at the time of my decease I give and bequeath the same unto and between my said sons Edward Pattern and John Pattern equally share and share alike to and for their own respective use and benefit they my said sons paying and discharging in equal shares and proportions all my just debts funeral expences and the expences of proving this my will and lastly I do hereby nominate constitute and appoint my said sons Edward Pattern and John Pattern and James Tweedy of Walpole Saint Andrews in the said County of Norfolk Farmer joint Executors of this my will hereby revoking all former wills by me at any time made.
In Witness whereof I have to this my will contained in two sheets of paper set my hand and seal that is to say to the first sheet thereof my hand and to this second and last sheet my hand and seal this twenty fifth day of August in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty.

This Will was proved at Terrington on the second day of February 1821 before the Revd Ambrose Goode […?] of the Worshipful William Yonge Clk A. M. Official Principal &c and was approved &c and adminstration of all and singular the goods &c of the within named John Pattern the Testator deceased was then duly granted to Edward Pattern & John Pattern his sons and James Tweedy the Executors within named they being duly sworn &c saving&.
