WEDDING GIFTS

Two members of the who Methodist church were married at Holbeach Methodist church on March 31 received many presents.

The bride was Miss Gwendoline Bell, first daughter of Mr. and Mrs. G. E. Bell, of 32 Cranesgate, Whaplode St. Catherine’s, and the bridegroom Mr. Geoffrey Alan Petch, second son of Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Petch, of 29 Park Lane, Holbeach.

A Methodist Sunday school teacher at St. Catherine’s, the bride received a half-tea service from the scholars and teachers. The bride was also a cashier at Spalding branch of the East Midlands Trustee Savings Bank, and she received a tea trolley from her colleagues there and at the Holbeach branch.

Both bride and bridegroom were members of Holbeach Methodist church choir, from the members of which they received glass oven ware.

The bride received lucky emblems from Miss Susan Bloodworth, Miss Jane Brown and Master Colin Brown.

Geoffrey Alan PETCH. Passed away peacefully on Monday 11th April 2022, at the Royal Derby Hospital, Nightingale Unit, aged 82 years. Beloved husband of Gwen and father to Adrian and Karl. Funeral Service at Markeaton Crematorium (Round Chapel) on Monday 9th May at 11:30am, followed by a Thanksgiving Service at St. Edmund’s Church, Allestree at 12:30pm. Family flowers only please however, donations in lieu to “Action for Children”. No black to be worn unless it is ladies underwear!
