Obituary

PATTERN – John Edward (Jack)

June 25, 1917 ~ October 13, 2007

Jack died at home with his loving wife Hilda by his side on October 13, 2007. His body simply said time to sleep and he drifted off. After retiring from a very successful business in Maple Ridge Hilda and Jack bought a house and moved to Gabriola in 1980. Jack enjoyed 35 years of retirement and lived life to the fullest. He was known for his fantastic vegetable garden and his knowledge of garden worms. His belief that nuclear disarmament was the only successful ways towards peace lead him to become an active member in G.I.P.A. and V.A.N.A. He was pre-deceased by brother Ken Pattern and sister Kay Armstrong. He will be missed by his loving family, Hilda (wife for over 66 years) son Ken (Helen), daughter Marilyn Heraty, granddaughter Cara Leyshon, grandson Aron Leyshon (Hilda), great-grandson Alexander Jackson, brother Harold (Clare), sister Jean Webber, the many nieces, nephews and newly found relatives in Yorkshire.
