NEWS OF THE WEEK.
An interesting marriage was celebrated by the Rev. Hugh Livingstone in St. James’ Presbyterian Church. Stanley, on Wednesday last. The contracting parties were Mr Jesse Tuxworth and Miss Hannah Maud Kay, both of Irishtown. The bride looked very happy and charming as she entered the church, dressed in while silk, wearing the customary veil and carrying the usual bouquet, and listened to the hymn, “The voice that breathed o’er Eden,” sung by the choir. The church was nicely decorated for the occasion. The bride was given away by her brother, who also acted as best man, and Miss Tuxworth (sister to the bridegroom) made a capable bridesmaid. At the conclusion of the ceremony, the happy pair left the church as the organist, Miss Young played the Wedding March.

FUNERALS. TUXWORTH – The funeral of the late Hannah Maude Tuxworth is appointed to leave her late residence, Forest, at 3 p.m. Sunday (May 9).

OBITUARY
MRS. H. M. TUXWORTH.
Mrs. Hannah Maude Tuxworth, whose funeral took place at the Brethren Cemetery, Forest, on May 9, was the 6th daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Kay, and was born at Montagu. She married Mr. Jesse Tuxworth, and lived at Alcomie for forty years before becoming a resident of Forest. Mrs. Tuxworth was in her 66th year.
There was a large and representative gathering at the funeral. The chief mourners were the husband, four sons, David, George, Lloyd and Bert, and daughters, Mesd. P. John and Gordon Kingston; brothers-in-law, Messrs. Wallace Tuxworth (Devonport), Robert Tuxworth (Mengha) and Henry Tuxworth (South Forest); brothers James, George and William Kay, and only surviving sister, Mrs. E. J. Murray, Cooee. The carriers were six nephews, Messrs. Clyde and Ron. Murray, Arthur, Allan and Norton Kay, and Harry Blizzard. The pallbearers were Messrs. Jas. Reid, Ray Wells, James and George Kay, and Wallace and Henry Tuxworth.
Services at the home and graveside were conducted by Mr. S. J. Manning, Burnie.
