Christopher Dancer was born in 1919 in Leighton Buzzard, Bedfordshire, the son of Ralph Dancer and Alice (née Kenny). He married Patricia Alma Pattern in 1957 and there are three known children. He died in 1990 in Aylesbury Vale, Buckinghamshire.
Miss Patricia Alma Pattern, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. L. Pattern, of Earith Villa, Long Sutton, was married on Saturday at St. Mary’s Church, Long Sutton to Mr. Christopher Dancer third son of Mrs. and the late Mr. R. Dancer, of Heath farm, Heath and Reach, near Leighton Buzzard, Beds.
The Rev. E. J. Harper, of Heath and Reach, and the Rev. C. Powell, of Long Sutton. conducted the service.
The bride, given away by her father, wore a gown of white flock nylon over taffeta with full-length veil and flowered headdress. She carried a bouquet of cream roses, white heather and lilles-of-the-valley.
The bridesmaids were: Miss E. Prager, Aylesbury, Dr. P. M. Cartwright, Reading, and Miss A. Longley, Oldham.
Miss Prager wore green, Miss Cartwright pink, and Miss Longley, blue, dresses of shot silk taffeta with flowered headdresses, and carried mixed coloured rosebuds and freesias. Mr. J. Carter was best man. The bride was presented with two black cats by her cousin, Anita Yates.
A reception was held in the church hall, Long Sutton after which Mr. and Mrs. Dancer left for Jersey. The bride travelled in a dark grey suit with cherry accessories.
The bride went to Spalding High School and Leeds University and has been teaching zoology at Aylesbury Grammar School. She received an electric clock from her colleagues.
Her husband is a farmer at Spinney farm, Heath and Reach, where they will live.
