Research Notes
In December 1871 at the Long Sutton Petty Sessions, George Reynolds charged with assaulting John Pattern of Holbeach St Johns. John did not attend and “was ill”.1 Did he not recover from the assault? A newspaper notice of 1 November 1872 asks for claims against “John Pattern, late of Holbeach Fen, farmer”, however no death notice or record was found during research. By 1881, Elizabeth was a widow.
