Obituary
G. H. JOHNSTON
Rev. J. T. Horricks officiated at the funeral service Monday in Henderson’s Funeral Chapel for Gordon Hugh Johnston, 250 Corbould Street South, who died January 16 in Valley View Hospital. Mr. Johnston’s eight sons were pallbearers. Interment was in IOOF cemetery.
Formerly of Edmonton, he was born on August 7, 1900, in Elm Creek, Manitoba, and had lived in this area for six years. He was a former cook’s helper.
Mr. Johnston is survived by his wife Eva; eight sons, Jack, Gordon, Bill and Marvin, all of Chilliwack; Harvey, Vancouver; Allen and Clint of Edmonton; Joe of Merville, Alberta; one daughter, Mrs. Mike (Ruby) Zaklan, Chilliwack, and 29 grandchildren.
